Who We Are
A woman-owned, small business based in New Hampshire, that specializes in dachshund apparel and other pet accessories, with three priorities that must be met within each piece. They must be practical, pretty and sustainable.
PRACTICAL - Practicality is bred into New Englanders’ DNA; each piece must be easy to use and functional in design.
PRETTY - Just because something is practical and sustainable, it doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful. Our dogs deserve to be gorgeous, too!
SUSTAINABLE - We care deeply about dachshunds, their health, and the world around us, so we are dedicated to using natural, non-toxic, sustainable, and locally sourced materials, primarily wool.

Born in New Hampshire to creative parents. Graduated from Virginia Tech, Go HOKIES! Worked in Charlotte, NC, but missed a quieter, more creative life. Moved back and found what I love: dogs, emphasis on dachshunds, and making things with my hands.

Where it all started…

The Age Old Story: I needed a product that didn’t exist. So, I made it.
Penny is your typical charming miniature long-haired dachshund. She barks, hunts, instigates, investigates, guards, and tries her best to be the boss. Did I also mention she is Mother Nature’s swiffer and isn’t afraid of getting wet or dirty? Due to her charms, I was desperate for better coverage to keep her and the house clean after being outside. But I couldn’t find anything that fit my needs, let alone her shape, and the idea for Outdooring Dog was born. Coats specifically designed for dachshunds that not only cover their long back but, more importantly, as much of their underbelly as possible, are easy to put on and take off, made of water-repellent material that breathes and keeps them both clean and warm.
